Gents,

I've been troubleshooting a heat soak/no start condition on my 95 and today, I either broke or discovered a broken spark plug wire connector end at the coil pack.

So take a look:

http://rcmautomotive.com/id10.html

I'm looking for a recommended wire set from you folks who have run them on these cars. I'm pretty partial to the set from Taylor because that's the brand I run on the Mustang and they're probably the best set of wires I've ever had.

What do you all run and what works best and which ones are the crap wires?

Thanks in Advance,
Noobz

Edit: Side Note: They look like a pain in the ass to route so should I replace the plugs at the same time? I've pulled the front three plugs and I don't see a thing wrong with them. They're platinum plugs. I can get a part number off of one if that matters.

Thanks.

The plugs/wires are a breeze once you pull the intake manifold.

I've always run Motorcraft wires on my SHO. A lot of people have found that the AC Delco wires work very well, and are a cheaper alternative.

I would stick with Motorcraft plugs though, those work the best.

Motorcraft all the way on the plugs. I have a set of the fine wires and have about 3k on them and love them.

A lot of people are running these on here. Good size and fit snug on the plugs. Pretty reasonable price around 120.

SHOsource Taylor 8.2mm

Yep... those are same wires that are in the list that I linked above. There's a $10 difference between the two sites but otherwise the same.

Thanks!

The Taylor wires don't always seal perfectly against the valve covers to keep water and other debris out of the plug wells. I'm using Taylors now, but mostly because I got a good deal on them (craigslist). If I was going to buy new, I'd look at Motorcrafts first. My car had AC Delco wires on it when I got it, and they seemed to do pretty well too.

Not the same wires. The ones we offer are the 8.2 ThunderVolt Wires. They are their mid range wires. The ones offered by RCM are the 8mm wires and on the lower end.

I'm on my 3rd set of Delco wires and Motorcraft fine-wire plugs. They have offered great durability and performance, at an acceptable price range. I've gotten them all from RCM and would definitely recommend them. :salute:

Are the Autolight Platinums any good? I'm looking at either them or the Motorcrafts.

Go with the Motorcrafts. The Autolites are slightly longer and may cause issues with junk getting into the plug wells since the wires won't seal as well.
