Is Auto-lite the same as Motorcraft????????? Local place says he has my "motorcraft" plugs but says Autolite is the same thing. If so, does anyone have the cross ref # for these??? shrug

No, Autolite is NOT the same. Use only the Motorcraft recommended plug unless you absolutely know what you are doing or are willing to be a guinea pig.

Your SHO will thank you for using the only plug designed for its heads: the Motorcraft AGSP32PP. This plug is available from O'Reilly Auto Parts for $3.79 or from FordPartsNetwork.com for $3.99 each. Other plugs are either too tall to let the plug boots seal at the valve cover, only single platinum tipped or the incorrect heat range. The AGSP32PP is a proprietary design (can't be copied) made by Nippon Denso for the Yamaha subcontract of design and assembly of the SHO engines.

Thanks, thumbs_u that's what I thought but the guy was basically telling me I didnt know what I was talking about. Guess I'll never go back there! boink

Back in the day....Autolite use to be a Ford branded part, such as Motorcraft. But our ever vigilant Federal government decided to bust up the "Ford-Autolite" monopoly back in the early seventies. Since then Motorcraft is Ford's branded parts and Autolite is owned by Allied Signal who also bring you Fram's fine line of products. boink
