Spark Plug Question

If the plugs are new and there is no carbon trails is it OK to clean them and check the gap? Mine have like 2k on them and the wires are bad so the plugs have some soot on them from running rich. Just wondering.

yes, clean and regap plugs, and then get some new wires!

Thats what I was hoping. My wires should be here tomorrow. On my old chevy I used a file to clean them, on these would berrymans be OK?
