I bought a southbend rally clutch about a year ago and in early july had tranny problems. While i my transaxle was being rebuilt by Bruce M.(netviper) he informed me that i had a bent pp strap. At the time i needed the car to be put back together so Bruce helped me out and put a shonut pp that was supposed to go into his car into mine instead. Well after nowing all of that your ready for the actual feedback which is i had sent the pressure plate back and they replaced the strap with no questions asked and also resurfaced the pp, i was throughly impressed with this and even though at the time i was mad because i had to spend more money on another pp all is well now that my fathers car needs a pp. So the purpose of this thread is that even though i had a rare problem which was believed to be a factory defect southbend fixed it for no charge, well for the cost of sending it there was the only thing.

You sure your flywheel was resurfaced last time you had a clutch put in? Miltownsho's flywheel wasn't resurfaced when he bought his car with a new clutch, 7,000 miles later the clutch went, it had a bent strap......

But wheres the actual review on the clutch here?

My clutch starting slipping due to the Fidanza never being resurfaced. I broke the PP strap at the dragstrip when my halfshaft snapped.

He's saying he was impressed with Southbend because they fixed his stuff no questions asked! :thumb:

I couldnt really give you a review of the clutch because im pretty sure that it either came bent or didnt take much time to bend so i dont know how the clutch should have really felt, when i put the southbend clutch in i had a brand new fidanza that i put in as well so it wasnt that the flywheel wasnt surfaced. I can say that shonut hd pp, sho nut ceramic tob, sb rally disk, and fidanza are a nice combo, stock feel and revs like a motorbike, my idle i would say you can notice is a little rough but i have intrax, tokicos, and al sfbs.

I didn't replace the insert on his fidanza as we put the Southhbend Raly disc back in there. Even if a non ground FW could bend a strap (i really don't see how) I highly doubt that one of SHOnut's HD pp's will ever bend a strap even with high RPM dumping downshifts.

FWIW I have always been told the only way a strap bendss like that is high mph downshifts without proper rev matching. :)

Very cool that they took care of it thhat way for you!!! Make me think I would buy from them, though then again I would think Josh@SHOnut would do similar.

I did bend a strap, but that had nothing to do with it slipping do the the flywheel never being resurfaced.
