So I just got into my car and I put the A/C all the way up and the windows down to get the hot air out.. I get to a stop sign and start taking off and I hear a loud-ass purging noise from the hood. I pulled over and smelt something funny from under the hood and I didn't see any un-connected hoses.. I got back in the car and the air was like vent air temp and wouldn't get cold. Any clue what this is? compressor? bad hoses?

Maybe the freon blew out from a sudden leak.
That would be my guess.

It's also possible that the relief valve on the manifold block popped due to excessive pressure or just plain failure. That would usually be easy enough to tell from the resultant oil residue on the radiator support and RH fan.
