Well to start off my battery light came on....didn't really think anything of it because car was starting just fine. Well last night i get to a stop sign and BOOM dead i tryed restarting and nothing there not even a turnover at all. Well i got a jump and got going car was running fine again until i got to my driveway pulled in and all of a sudden died...Today i went and had the battery tested and they said the battery was half way decent being winter coming up i just bought a new one...Well the light wasn't on at first. But the weirdest thing is now once it gets around that 1k-1.7k RPM ranges when im not on the gas it comes on. Im completely stumped. Any help would be appreciated. But the car runs just fine....

Could be a bad alternator, ATX or MTX? The atx alt is pretty easy to pull and have tested, MTX is pretty easy as well, just not as easy. Check your connections for corrosion/being tight.

Sounds like a bad alternator. Did you use a volt meter and check it while it's running?

You dont have to remove your alternator to test it. You can take it to a shop or to any AutoZone and they will hook up their machine to your car, you get a better idea if its charging or not if they are able to put a load on your electrical system. Make sure that the electrical connections are all ok, check the main power cable at the alternator and at the battery & make sure that with the ignition switch in the "on" position you have 1 bright signal & 1 low signal at the alternator harness, and the third wire is a ground I believe.

my car was doing the same thing. my alternator wasn't charging and one wire connector was corroded and broken. replaced that but a new alternator fixed the problem, for some reason the battery light doesn't light up until the battery is becoming discharged. the cheapest place i could find an alternator was fleabay and didn't have to mess with the core charge. As stated, it's most likely your alternator. It wouldn't hurt to pick up some new + and - battery cables while you're at it. Made a world of difference when I was having similar issues.
