I've been getting a CEL for the past week or so. It would come and go while driving, so I figured it to be an O2 acting up. Pulled them that same day(about a week ago), and got 173. I figured since I had a few spare O2 sensors around I would toss one in and see what it does. The next day I still get a CEL while driving. Pull the codes again, and still have the 173. I figure "eh.. as long as it's rich, I'm not too concerned about it", and left it at that.
Fast forward to today. I'm still getting the CEL(same as before), so I pull the codes again. However this time I get 171 and 173. So... after I find that, I start checking the right banks fuel injectors. I can hear them all when I put a screwdriver to them. But, I suppose that doesn't mean one could be sticky still.
I did not pull the plugs, as I don't have all of my tools here at the house (they're at work). I looked at the O2's grounds and they seemed fine as well. I did clean the MAF today, but it wasn't real dirty and I have not taken the car out for a spin afterwards to see if it helped.

Now, I do have an LPM installed. It is setup to add 9% more fuel, as well as other things. But, why would the right bank be the only one having issues?

I did get other codes, but nothing of concern as I know what they all are: 511(LPM), 528(don't have it), and 565(bypassed).

weak/malfunctioning plugs/wires is the only thing I can think of if its' not the injectors...

I haven't pulled the rear plugs yet. But the Wires are fairly new(5k miles), and I did pull the front plugs a couple weeks ago to see how the motor was running with the nitrous and the new tune, and they looked great.

I forgot to bring tools home yesterday... so I might swing by a friends house to pull the rears.

Anyone have any other suggestions to look for?

Pull out the LPM, and swap in the stock AFM, just to see what happens. This probably wont help, but there is a chance, and it will provide some insight into how well they work together. Guess I could have suggested this in person.:)

Bump... I pulled #1 and #3 yesterday to see what they looked like, and all seemed fine. I think the only other two options are, the O2 I put in was bad, or the fuel injector is failing sometimes...
Anyone?

Allready tried that, as well as reseting the computer with the LPM.

Can O2's fail in rich mode? IIRC, all I've seen is lean codes.

No converters. But I don't see the relevance.

Did it give a rich code though with the bad O2's?

One step colder. I have a few sets on the shelf that I may throw in, however the car does not seem down on power and I can't find a miss anywhere in the rpms.

Bump?!?!

It seems that the CEL only comes while cruising at a steady pace (i.e. 70mph) for awhile. As soon as I get into the throttle, or drop down a gear, the CEL goes out and doesn't come back on till I resume a steady pace.

o2 sensors seem like the problem.... but the check engine light could be programed in now that it was on so long.... have you tried taking it to advance or autozone or the equivalent and having them clear the codes? I know that we have our shop computer/scanner that does that, I mean it may just still be in the memory. I could be wrong, but maybe it is worth a try...see how long it stays off for, it may not come back on!

If it's stored then it wont trip the CEL light. The reason the CEL light comes on is something isn't right while the car is running. I can clear the codes, I don't need to go to an autoparts store...

I may try swapping the O2's around, right to left, and see if the code follows it. I'm wondering if a plug is just not running right? Like I said, I cannot feel a miss, but OTOH, it may not be 100%.

This is really starting to bug the crap outta me. :madflame:

Air leak between MAF and TB? Vacuum leak? Engine operating temperature?
