ok, i've got my pioneer deck installed, and everything's working great. this brings me to the next phase of the upgrade. i want to replace all 6 of the speakers, and probably the amp as well. the speakers i'm fine with, i've done that before, but its the amp that i have a question about, when we did the speakers in my friends car he ran them off his stock amp, which was decent enough, but would i need to replace it? i think the sound quality would improve if it was replaced so.... since i have the amp integrator harness already is it possible to just take out the factory amp and use the stock wiring to put in the new one? if so what's the correct type of amp to go with, i'd prefer a single unit that controlls all 6 interior speakers. i don't need a 6 channel amp for this do i? cause  those are a bit out of my budget right now. this amp would NOT need to do anything with the sub, i'll take care of that separately, i just want it to run some decent speakers, like the pioneer 61/2 inch and 6x8 3 way speakers that are on sale right now. i don't need competition level sound, just something noticeably better than stock. please help- how many channel amp do i need for all 6 speakers, and what about the wiring? and also just wondering what are the specs of the 95 premium sound amp/system?

If you plan on using an aftermarket amp you will be unable to reuse the stock amp wiring. New power wire from the battery, as well as signal and remote outputs will also have to be ran from the head unit to the new amp. You have the option of running new wire to each speaker, or retaining the factory speaker leads. Using the amp eliminator harness cut in half will let you run the outputs from the amp to that plug without having to rewire all the speakers. You'll likely be looking for a 4 channel amp, with output power probably at least 50x4 rms @ 4 ohms. If you list your budget I'm sure people could help recommend an amp for you.

if u just had/have premium u only have 4 speakers(im pretty sure). jsut splice into that harness and use the wires from that, u dont need an amp for the speakers since u got a nice 50x4 mosfet sittin in ur dash. in my old slo runnin all 4 aftermarket pioneers (exactly what u want) with just the hu sounded awesome! just reuse the stock wiring and find what polarities (+,-)to hook to the speakers to with a wiring diagram. ill see if i have mine.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to use a 6-channel.
I think you want a good 4 channel amp for the fronts/ rears. You'd have to check the resistance (ohms) on the set of speakers up front (you have 4 up front, right?) and make sure the amp can handle it.

The Subs in the rear would be driven off a different amp, but you say you have the bass taken care of.

Try crutchfield.com or other places for pricing on amps. Talk to car stereo shops about the best way to go, then buy somewhere else. :D

You can get 'decent' sound for not a lot of $$$, but obviously the more you pay the better the sound..

6 interior speakers???? I've got two 2nd Gens, and the most I've ever counted is 5, unless you count individual speakers on the coax's and the tweeters I have mounted on the lower part of the A pillar...then we're up to 11 in my 92, counting the sub....but then, I could be wrong...I often am....

# of speakers

i assumed 6 because sounddomain.com has 3 different categories for thier fit guide.. with the 95 SHO selected, there's a category for droont doors, a category for rear side panels, and a cetegory for rear deck/back seat. it shows that the front doors and rear side panels fit a 6 1/2 inch speaker, while the rear deck/back seat fits 6x8. these 3 things are on both the page for "none" and for "JBL/Premium sound" why would they have these 3 categories for only 4 speakers? i really want to go check out in the car but its been raining or dark when i've gotten out of work this entire week
