soapy water/brake cleaner=clean rotors???

I either read somewhere or watched on TV..yeah i think it was that :confused: ...n e wayz...i saw that it is a good idea to clean the rotors after purchase w/brake cleaner and soapy water, then install???? since brakes are comin this wknd..curious if this is true..i dont want them squeekin on me AGAIN!!!...THanx all :thumb:

All you need to do is spray them with some Brakleen to get the light oil film off of them. Apply some antisqueal to the backs of the pads before installing them to avoid noise.

or instead of anti-squeal, use a file. chamfer the lead edge of the pad where it contacts the rotor. breaking this 90 degree contact reduces brake squeal. dont know what im taking about ? look at a set of Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads. they are chamfered from the factory.

at Auto-Zone, they want us to sell a .99 package of brake quiet. since i started working there, i dont sell .99 brake crap, i sell $9 mill files. no wonder my sales exceeded everyone elses..and it was only my first week.

and any brand of brake cleaner will work. as well as cheap Wal-Mart brand carb cleaner. as long as it doesnt leave a residue behind on the rotor surface, itll work.
