so here you are its -31c outside and you can't figure where the block heater plug is on your awesome ford product?

well this is what it looks like it will be located at the front of the engine bay clipped and attached to the front somewhere

be careful when closing the hood

I plugged the unit into a ****-a-watt meter

the $80(canadian) factory installed block heater uses 466watts and 3.73amps at around 59-60hz

enjoy your awesome starts :salute:

EDIT added a better picture

FWIW, the 60 Hz is the wall power, not a function of the block heater. You plugged the ****-a-Watt meter in to a 120VAC, 60 Hz socket. ;)

I believe UD plugged his into a usage meter to measure actual usage and draw.

Agreed. I was just trying to point out that the 60Hz is not a function of the heater, it's information from the usage meter regarding the source (wall socket) voltage. The current draw is a function of the heater, and the power dissipated is a result of the current draw of the heater and source voltage (120VAC at 60 Hz). I'm not questioning the provided numbers.

My window sticker listed a block heater (no charge), but I have yet to find the plug. I keep it in the garage. But I want to locate it, maybe that photo will help me know what to look for. I would have been ****** if the dealer (in Anchorage, AK) didn't add a free block heater to the order!

Yeah... sometimes they're well hidden. Look down low, driver's side, in the grill.

Makes sense that you guys would get one.

Thanks, Unknown Driver! Mine is in the exact same spot. Seems rather obvious now. It was the round cover that fooled me!
