Had to go to nashville for a concert last night and it snowed the entire time we were in there. Came out to an icy, snowy parking lot at L.P. Field. While not overwhelmingly impressive, other than the fact that it was nearly a perfect circle, this was the first time since i picked up the car in June that I had the opportunity to do something so....juvenile.

Please excuse the giggle from my GF who has since been relieved of camera duty.

Im open to viewing your own SHOnut vids!

The giggle was perfect. Leave the camera duties in her hands.

Besides, take away the camera, she may be apt to replace you in the driver's seat next go around.

Oddly enough, she's more comfortable sitting next to me doing 110mph than she is doing donuts in an empty parking lot in the snow.

Anyone ever see that commercial Ford made way back when, the race car driver doing a perfect side-slide with all four wheels spinning?

I got my 2013 to do that in a huge empty parking lot - the thing that freaked me out was, when I let off the gas, the rear end came around. Ever since, I'm leery of doing anything like that again. Never driven a car that did that after I let off the gas. Does the same thing in the snow.

Guess it's because the SHO is pretty evenly weighted? My '96 T-bird that was like 60/40 weight distribution never did that.

Yup, that's the one BPD. I think I took a third of the tread off the F1's that day.

Any truth to what I read a while back that in the PP SHO they put a slightly SMALLER front sway bar to create less understeer? Always wondered if that's why my PPs always feel like the rear is gonna swing out more than I'd like.

Yes, the PP's do employ a smaller sway bar.

I found that out a few years back when researching myself.

And those official Ford commercials were fun to watch for sure. Still are!

Were you the only one at the concert?

Or did you wait for the parking lot to empty before engaging in some juvenile fun?

Jeff

The stadium offers free parking in two lots for events at Bridgestone arena. That leaves like 3 other lots further from the two fee ones completely empty when noting is going on at the stadium. Something I had been looking forward to and counting on alllll day haha.

Bellingham, WA. About as far NW as one can get in the contiguous states. 80 Miles North of Seattle, 50 mikes South of Vancouver B.C.

Nice! I lived as far north there as Arlington. Spent lots of time in Mt Vernon and Anacortes. Grew up down in Poulsbo, though. Doubt I'll ever get the car out there but I know exactly what roads I'd be on if I were out there with it.

Ahh...So you are familiar with the area! Yes, there are a few nice drives that are close by. Chuckanut Drive, Hwy 20 over Deception Pass and down Whidbey Island, SR 542 to Mt. Baker and Hwy 9 From Sedro Woolley to Wickersham are a few of my favorites. Unfortunately, the population has boomed here in the last few years and all of these popular scenic and spirited drives are heavily travelled most of the time.

I grew up doing what could be equated to rallycross on logging roads just across the hood canal in the Olympic peninsula. Good times.

No videos but this year I was FINALLY able to disable Stability Control on my non-PP SHO (no thanks to vendors who were happy to tell me they had the knowledge but failed to share anything) and do some donuts. Now it's 55 degrees out and there's no snow left. I'll have to get a video next time we get any substantial snow.

Care to share? I've got a PP so while it won't benefit me I'm guessing you are going to get a lot of questions! :)

Basically the Stability Control requires 3 inputs in order to be active. It needs input from the wheel speed sensors, steering angle sensor, and yaw sensor. If any of those sensors fail to provide their required input, the whole systems turns itself off (it also throws a Stability Control error). If you cut the yaw sensor wire (as it passes under the center console) and add a switch it allows you to **** that input whenever you want. Flip switch on, car receives yaw sensor input as expected. Flip switch off, car doesn't receive yaw sensor input and it disables the system. I intend to write up a detailed "How To" but I haven't got around to it.
