hmm i took off from a light today WOT and had a friend behind me...he said after the secondary runners opened i started pouring blue smoke. I knew it was going thru some oil so its not a real big suprise but its going thru about a quart in a week and a half with periodic WOT's.
Is this typical of a SHO motor with 135k on it? i had a previous sho that had 125k and it did similar things...only burned even more oil. This sucks frown

Back in Michigan ... again.
Every SHO I've ever seen smokes like that from WOT...that's what happens when the tires let loose :D

Seriously though, the oil consumption sounds high. How many miles are you putting on in that week & a half time frame? Also, what grade/brand oil are you using?

Is it dripping while it's sitting?
Crank seal and rear main maybe...if you are burning that much oil, you probably need valve guides sealed up...oil in plug wells too?
eek!

Is it possible that when the secondaries open, any accumulated oil residue in those runners blows through? Does the smoke go away after a short period? Try an extended secondaries open run to see if it goes away.

I think blue smoke can also mean that your rings inside your motor are going bad. If this is that case, you might as well rebuild the motor while you're in there

You may want to remove the intake's crossover tube and inspect the interior of the plenums. You are looking for puddles of oil that are coming through the crankcase breathers. This oculd be due to over filling the crankcase with oil or running the car upside down. If no standing pools of oil, your blue smoke is coming from oil leaking through worn valve guides, worn rings or both. None of these cases would be normal for a SHO engine with "only" 135,000 miles.

Is that like a post-****** cigarette? (Sorry, I can't be serious all the time).

I just had to move back to georgia actually :(
the SHO made it fine on the trip but it is going thru a lot of oil, and it is burning it not leaking it(no drips).

it didnt go thru any at all on the trip home(highway driving) but i did like 3 WOT runs once i got here and now its a quart low :(
guess its no more hard driving for me
