Lately my 95 ATX has been sluggish in 2nd gear also the car only has power when i put the peddle to the floor. There is a lose of power in between 2000 and 3500 RPM. Any suggestions as to why i have little mid range power.

Check to make sure your secondaries are working properly. They should be closed until 3,950 RPMs or something close to that.

even though the CEL is not illuminated, codes can be stored. You can check yourself`with a paperclip or a piece of wire.
To check the secondaries, start the engine and pop the hood. Blip the throttle linkage so it hits the rev limiter (4K rpms). You SHOULD see the actuator move (located on top of the intake, towards the back, next to the runners) during this.
Hope this helps.
