Ok, i have determined that my slicxers are in fact on bacwards. But, while the slicers are on backwards, the tires on on correct. so to fix this I would have to pull every tire off the rim, switch them around, and then put back on. Is having the slicers on backwards a big enough deal to have me pay the cash just to switch them around?

The reason the slicers are designed as they are is for brake cooling (much needed on the early cars). They are effectively an air pump. Running them backwards should not affect the balance of the assembly.

I currently have two backwards facing directional slicers due to an errant tire installation shop. Trying to correct for tire wear now

Tough decision Random. On one hand you risk additional wear and tear on the brakes and rotors. On the other hand, they are also directional tires for a reason. You can get vibration from having directional tires going the wrong way. I've also heard that once directional tires are mounted and driven on, when you re-mount them and travel the other way can lead to tire warping.

the tires are on on the correct direction. they face forward. its the slicers are on backwards. I gather this is what happeded. The tires were rotated in the past and the slicers got mixed up. later after that, new tires were out on. But the slicers were never changed back. so the tires are correct, its the slicers that face the firection.

Have you thought of telling the shop of their mistake? I mean, it does have the directions cast right on them. Tell them they are directional for brake cooling and maybe they will hook you up. If you want to come out to MA I'll mount and balance them for free.

When I got new tires over the summer for the second time, first time they put 225/60-16 on, they had the slicers on backwards. I let them know and they rectified it imeadiatly, going on this I assume that most shops would fix their error.

they were like that when I bought the car. I have no idea how long ago, or who put the tires on. I do know the car spent some time in Texas owned by somebody, but other than that, I have no idea were it came from.

Well i say it cant hurt them to run them backward. 1/2 of the 91's wheels run backwards without ill effect right.
