i'm planning on having my slicers painted, at least i was. i thought my center caps were faded so i figured i'd paint all 4 rims too. now i'm wondering if i just have mismatched wheels and center caps. there is more than one type of slicer, correct? like a Canadian version or something? my wheels are a bright silver and the caps almost have a yellowish hint to them. i did my best with the photo. it doesn't really capture my description all that well, but hopefully you guys will see what i'm getting at.

thoughts?

Isn't there more than two? Well there's two types - directional and non-directional. But also there are 2 places of manufacture - canada and ?

I wonder if there are more than 2 types because I have the "plus" directional slicers, and a standard "SHO" centercap does not fit.

Because the caps are plastic they age differently than the aluminum rims. I've seen that before on other cars. If you're going to paint the rims paint the caps. The only thing I don't know is if the paint will flake off when the cap flexes when it comes off... :shrug:Anybody else?

Not if you rough it up enough and put at least 2-3 coats of primer on it then it should not flake. If you just simply paint them and no scuffing or primer then yes it will flake.

that is the difference. canadian slicers are not directional and do not have sho written on the center caps. these came on 91's. the italian directional slicers have sho on the center cap, these are the same color silver as the canadian slicer. the only other color was white.

just leave the center caps off.
