Watch the engine temp. When the car is first turned on it will climb and eventually even out to a good running temperature.

Overheating means a problem.
No rise in temperature on the gauge is a problem.

As long as the pump pulley is turning while the engine is running and you haven't been using acid in the cooling system, the pump is moving water. The pumps fail by leaking at the shaft seals or wearing the bearings from excessive belt tension. Drips under the pump will tell you if the seals are okay and a wobbly pulley when grabbed by a hand and shaken will tell you if the bearings are okay.

Why do you ask?
