I read on shotimes.com about how I can remove the silencer cone from my sho. I think I've found it, but I want to see if I'm right before I yank it. Is the cone some black plastic thing inside the fender well, and can be touched if you put your hand in the hole the air box connects to in the fender? BTW, it's an 89. Also, does anybody have any comments one doing this mod? I've heard it makes a cool sound with it off, so I might give it a shot. Thanks!

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but somebody told me that the cone is there for a reason, and if I yank it I'll have problems. Do I have to add in anything after taking the cone out, or will it run fine without it? It seems like it's just there to keep the car quieter. Thanks for any more help!

nope......you dont' have to put anything back in. just remove the cone. i'd say about 95% or more people on this forum have removed it.
