does anyone have any idea how to remove the side mirrors? someone hit my car a few weeks ago and knocked the whole mirror assembly on the passenger door out of place, its still pretty solid, but the front has pulled away from the body about a half an inch. not too noticable, but an eye-sore to me anyways.

I tried a little gentle persuasion to get the mirror to tuck back up against the door, but it wouldnt seem to budge. Next I took off the little plastic cover on the inside of the A-pillar thinking (like an idiot) that logically there would be some kind of bolts behind it that hold the mirror on, but nothings never that easy.

perhaps i'll try to post a picture so everyone can see, but if getting the mirror off turns out to be insanely complex, i'll probably be stuck with it for a while :squint:

There are 3 nuts holding on the mirrors (per my '92). I think you need to pull the door inner trim panel in addition to the small triangular trim piece you mentioned. It's not real bad to do - I think there are 2 screws to pull first (plus the one for the triangular bit)). Don't pull the one behind the door handle release lever - there is one behind the static grab handle and one just above the map pocket. Then you need to pop the trim panel off. Easiest way is to buy a trim removal tool. Cheap and does the job nicely. Helps you lever out those Xmas tree fasteners.

Then you should have access to the 3 nuts. At least one of them is set down into the door through an opening in the metal inner panel. Light torque when retightening (manual says 25-40 in-lbs, which is only a couple ft-lbs and ain't much).

Hope this helps.
