Should I be concerned?

I have searched a little here on the forum, haven't had much time though today to search this in depth.

I did a search for the headlight switch, and learned that all the current for the lights goes through that switch, and it is a common problem, that causes failure of that switch.

I have noticed here in the last few days, when I turn on my headlights that they go off for a split second as I am turning them on, dash lights go out at the same time. Haven't noticed it much when just turning on the parking/fog lights. It is almost like someone turned on the automatic headlight switch on then off again. But it does not always do it.

What I am wondering, is what I have found in the search, symptoms of why I am seeing my lights cut out for a second and back on again.

I will continue to search this out... Any help is welcome,

Thanks

Fuses either work or don't work. If it was a fuse, and it was blown, my headlights wouldn't come on at all. I had them on earlier this evening. No problems. I would like to head this off before I have no headlights.

Mike check your fuses?

Just get it new. It's pretty cheap, and any switch you pull out of another taurus is liable to have the same issue.

LoL boat.. are you serious? After all the new parts, don't put a used switch in there.. lol One that hasn't been used for a while will have dirtier contatcs than the one you have now. Cutting corners on electrical things is usually not the best idea. ;)

I had this same problem. I replaced the switch with a new one, then my dimmer switch went out causing my fogs not to come on and my radio and A/c display to flash when I applied my turn signal when the dimmer was up too high.

Too many electrical gremlins in these cars. Good luck.

Should I be "picky" about which brand to buy? Is there any switch maker that one should avoid?
