Should codes be the same?

Hi all,
I've been trying to diagnose some issues with my '94 MTX. Basically it runs great for a while, then all sort of weird drivability things start happening....the thing is that it is not the same thing consistantly. My question is this.....Should the codes be the same if I pull them repeatedly over and over. A few people on the forum here thought I might have a bad PCM. So I went for a drive and got the car to act up. I then came straight home and pulled the codes 4 times in a row and got different codes each time. TPS codes (which I just replaces) idle codes and even some ATX codes. I would think that this may point to a bad PCM. IT also seemes to happen alot more the hotter it is outside.

All maintinance is up to date and I did the usual MAF cleaning and checking for oil in the plug wells already. It runs strong when it runs....just put down 205 whp a few weeks ago on the dyno. Thanks

Jeremy

I would swap in another pcm at this point - if you pull the codes multiple times one after another and get different codes, that suggests either that you cannot count or that the pcm is haywire.

That's what I was thinking. I posted in the WTB section and also in the Great Lakes saction. I was kinda hoping I could get one from someone locally if possible.

My experience with a bad PCM has been more of it not running tests properly and spitting out really weird codes. Are you getting completely different sets of codes every time?

BTW, I'll be in Auburn next Friday or Sat if you'd like me to take a look at your SHO. :)

Some of my codes are the same and then I get some different ones. I also had a hard time getting the test to run right each time. IF you are going to be up for the Kruse auction, I live about 3 minutes from the auction park (same exit). If you think you could track down the issue that would be great.
Shoot me a PM, email or give me a call 260-316-5350.

That could be the defining factor right there.

Still not sure when I'll be in Auburn... may end up being there for a couple days actually so yeah, if you're still having issues I'd be happy to take a look :thumb:

I'll give you a buzz when I have more info
