Reason I ask is because a couple months back I blew an upper radiator hose with no warning...Found it odd, but got past it.

Then my friend (syP) with his 95 MTX blew some weird coolant hose in the rear of the engine bay...We fixed it.

Then tonight, we were blasting through some corners, and he had the car wound to about 4-5 k through a sorta longish set of "S" curves, and after we hit a straightway, he let the car loose. Literally 15 seconds later, we stopped at a light and the car litterally just engulfed itself in smoke. We just pulled into a parking lot and checked it out..I knew immediatly from the smell that it was coolant...We looked around only to find that one of the coolant lines from the TB coolant bypass I had done on the car a while back had blown off the spout completly.

Also, I just rembered. He also blew his radiator, And I blew mine also.

Whats wth these cars and blowing coolant hoses??

Are we alone here or do other people suffer with the same problems?

Maybe your rad caps are bad or your over flow bottle line is plugged? I wouldn't think there any more of a hose buster than any other car.

You should also take into account how many miles/years are on those coolant hoses. In the years I've own taurii (in general), blowing coolant hoses were nothing new. Always happened without warning, although a careful visual inspection would show if they were in need of being replaced. So to some it up, i've been through a radiator, TB coolant hose, upper rad hose, and lower rad hose. Your not alone!

I've had a car (not a SHO) blow coolant hoses because the headgasket was blown and the cooling system was being pressurized.

I blew both the upper radiator hose and that little one behind the block. And that little one in the back was a bi*ch to get to.

I think we also need to consider the fact that most of the rubber hoses on these cars are 10+ years old....and get driven hard, hot, and with plenty of pressure. I never had a hose blow on me. But, when my SHO hit 150k I replaced all the hoses, because I didn't want one to blow.

Thermostat - Rad caps.

Cheap but VERY important things to look for , can cause serious damage.

Heh, new T-stat in my car already, along with the radiator cap.

But this was all PRE blowing the upper radiator hose, and after replacing those two things, my radiator was giving me trouble.
