Okay so I I have a 1994 SHOwith 126,000 miles on it, the 94 tranny went out on me so I replaced it with one out of a 93 that is supposly rebuilt. Well the tranny shifts 1-2-3-4 Just fine but it does it really fast. Doesnt kick-down, If you give it wide open throttle it wont downshift and take off. I can drop it into second gear remember this is an ATX at about 50MPH and match the tach with the speed so it dont hurt it and it goes like ****. The car wont get up into the secondaries even. I replaced the speed sensor and it still has the same issue. I also sometimes have to shift the car to nuetral then back to park and back to nuetral in order to even start the car. It threw me a VSS problem. Is their a difference between the 93 VSS"s and the 94 VSS's. could th estarting problem be a nuetral safetey switch as well as the shifting problems??

Well the VSS isn't different... It could be mlps, Does this ever happen on hills? when I needed my mlps ajusted, I wouldn't start on hills, But sounds like if you have to take it out of park...there's something wrong like, shifter cable...again! How did it look? huh!

What is MLPS and no it does it all of the time.

1st to second gear shifts at 3,000 RPMS

2nd to third is about the same about 3200 RPMS
and it seems to shift into overdrive but the thing is if I give it more gas it doesnt downshift i have to put it in second gear to get the secondaries to open up.
