Has anyone here raced a Pontiac g8 gt before? If so how did it go? Might be racing one in the near future. It is also supercharged

Fun cars but slow. The g8 normal v8 is a 6.0. The gxp was the 6.2l ls3. None were supercharged from factory. The chevy ss is like the same as the g8 gxp, 6.2l. They can be made quick but have tons of heatsoak so shouldnt have an issue vs one at the track.
Now if its supercharged then who knows, it will probably win as its rwd and will have traction with slicks probably. Ls3s can also run e85. Probably whats its running unless its full race gas and modded to ****

If he has a drag radial and it supercharged, he should run you down. Your only advantage is from a dig.

It’s is not on radials and it’s running 91 octane currently. I know it’ll gap me up top but hopefully the sho can hold its own briefly. If not I’ll need to consider what I’m going to do to the car next for some extra oomph haha

Buddy has a ss and stock v stock are even. I'm FBO and run 11.8 and once he put the LSA supercharger on with mt street ss tires we're very close.

My sho has a tune, colder spark plugs and a k & n drop in filter and that’s all. Had a few runs with the g8 tonight. After 60mph when it stops spinning it passes the sho. Turns out it has more done than I knew about, basically a fully build car aside from pistons and rods.

I've raced a couple stock-ish, they were not very impressive, I had one red light and I still tracked him down and passed him with ease.

With forced induction, I'm sure they are a whole new animal, like the saying goes... there is no replacement for displacement.

My buddy has a charged one and it's a face melter. I think he dyno'd 750ish. I keep telling him we should run but he would go from a dig

Yeah with the supercharger I was quite impressed with the g8. Even from a 30mph roll I pulled away for a while until it finally got traction haha, but when it passed it was moving pretty damn good.
