I am away from my books and need some help with some original part numbers for the 1989 SHO springs and struts. Here is what I would like to find out:

Front
Original Ford Part number or code for the stock springs
Original Ford Part number for the struts

Rear
Original Ford Part number or code for the stock springs
Original Ford Part number for the struts

I have a list of spring codes (attached) but they do not specify the year or generation they were used on. It only includes the spring rates. If anyone can provide information as to what code goes with what year/ATX or MTX that would be a big help. Hoping somebody can help out there. Thanks

If you are looking for new OEM springs, they've been on the unobtanium list for many years. As far as replacement springs out there that are stock height and spring rate, there are none. The OEM Motorcraft struts are still available, but you are better off going with Sensatracks. Quickstruts will raise the ride height, but you could cut a dead coil and solve that.

If you find some NOS for a Gen II in the strut department drop me a PM!

Spring from my 1989 SHO with a 12/88 build date.

Bingo what I was looking for. Now we Know that 1989s used Spring Code J (JIT) for the front springs. That part number is E6DZ 5310-AJ

Necrobumpo for front springs

I just did a bit of googling, and fordpartsgiant.com popped up with the "J Code" "JIT" E6DZ-5310-AJ Spring for 89-93+ in stock. I don't know how trustworthy this stock actually is, since I was able to add 100 of them to my cart, but there's a possibility they, or finditparts or whiteracingproductsllc_nos on ebay, or nospartsltd.com actually does have these springs to sell if you want the original SHO feel instead of the mushy Moogs or whatever you've got.

The K code spring is not listed by the sites - so that is at least some indication these sites aren't just listing every part number in the Ford catalog.

That's where we're at now folks - our parts have been blown out of the dealers shelves and sent to the liquidators. If you can find the OEM part numbers, there's some interesting and surprising finds to be had for the last time - like how about brand new built heads or cams for a 3.2?
