First, I would like to say my experience with the SHO SHop was several years ago. Hopefully in that time they have changed some of thier policies.

I ordered the SHO shop lowering springs. The individual I spoke to said they were in stock and they would ship that day.

A week passed and still no springs..not unusual as I do live in Canada and it seems reasonable that it might take a while.

Two weeks passed and I called them back. The individual I spoke to told me that the springs are sub-contracted and that they were awaiting a new shipment. He told me the facility was mere blocks away and that he would expidite them that day.

In the meantime, my credit card statement had arrived with the Sho Shop already having submitted a charge.

Phone tag continued for some time. After 3 months, I called my credit card company to charge back the springs that I had still not recieved.

The SHO shop called me within 2 days to enquire about the chargeback. I related my story to the individual on the phone and he was appologetic but told me there would be a 20% re-stocking fee.

Ridiculous. A 20% re-stocking fee on an item I never recieved.

The springs arrived a month later. I called my credit company to re-enstate the charge ( the honest thing to do).

I called the SHO Shop and informed them they had essentially sent me the springs for free but that I would be informing my credit card company that I had indeed recieved my merchandise and that they should re-enstate the charge.

I am very pleased with the springs (no longer offered by the SHO shop unfortunatly). They dropped the car 3" and handled wonderfully.

I will not longer buy from the SHO shop due to this incident. They have many great products and recieved many positive write-ups in SUperFord magazine but this harrowing incident soured my experience with them.

I realize this topic has been beat to death and that they are a small company, but the dis-honesty is what worried me the most. If the individual had told me that there was no stock and it may be a while, I would have been satisfied and waited (albeit impatiently).

4 months to lie to somebody is unreasonable. In real life there are many white lies but stonewalling me for 4 months when the truth would have put me at bay is unacceptable.

I donm`t think some people realize just how small a company they are.Not to mention that SHO Shop is not Vadim`s only buisiness in the same location.

Thank you for sharing your SHO Shop experience with other forum members. I understand that this is a trying experience for people, and I have personally been on the good & bad side of SHO Shop.

My only point in all fairness is that this happened "several years ago".

New potential customers should keep this in mind. The key to SHO Shop seems to be getting straightforward, honest communication from them. For the most part, I have come to expect that it is reasonable to assume an extra week for processing & shipment method choices. Another thing I have come to realize is that as much as one would assume parts are a normal stock item, remember that these are specialty parts, and to have them verify actual stock and confirm shipping with a tracking number. If it's "in stock" and you don't get a tracking number that day or the next, get on the horn & be aware that it could be a case of one piece of the puzzle was found missing when they went to ship, etc.

IMO, their customer service has improved noticeably over the past year, since Tom took over as shop manager.

After dealing with the SHO Shop for the first time, I've learned that I'd rather leave my car stock then deal with them again. I spent $200US on the SHO Shop UDPs for the Gen III then the offer a group buy shortly there after. After I get my first set of pullies I spent $300CDN getting them installed.

The alternator pulley didn't fit. The SHO Shop attempted to send me a replacement pulley. It wasn't any different then the first pulley. The third pulley looks a little different but I'm still not sure that it will fit and it is very doubtful that it will. So I've spent about $700CDN and I've got nothing to show for it.

If I return the pullies, I lose out on shipping, the attempted installation and the taxes and duties. My next road trip will be to visit the SHO SHOP!!!!

SHO91MTX:
Ian, you are not the only Gen III owner with UDP troubles.
Yeah, I know that now. I know about Kirk, PurpleSHO and David Ware from the V8 list. I wonder how many others are out there with pullies that didn't fit. We need to form a support group.

I wonder how many V8 customers they lost over this fiasco?

Back in Michigan ... again.
The PS pulley for my V6 UDP's didn't fit either...just a touch too narrow. And I understand a few V6 owners have had the water pump pulley shear apart on them; frankly I'm a bit nervous now when I wind the car out, and I'm considering just selling them altogether.

I would just like to say that I have happily spent over $4000 with sho shop, and have had good and bad experiences with them. I honestly believe that the problematic experiences people have are more so from shipping, than from the actual company. I hate so much to hear that someone had one bad experience, and will never buy from them again. I mean, I can't help but ask "Who started it all?" Furthermore, who else are you going to go with? (Unless you're gonna start makin' stuff)(someone that stocks their parts?????) Every time sho shop has had a long wait for me due to shopping or whatever, they have taken care of me. And as far as this water pump pulley shear off problem, you guys must have a set of the old school pulleys, with the slots in em, you need to just call and get a solid one, because it will not only look better, but it is stronger too.

Well YAMAHA if they shiped what they sold on time or at least they called you to let you know what the story was it might be better. But when you order a "in stock" item and its really out of stock its not good. Phone tag in a small business is expected fellas, there is not way to hire a Trophy phone answerer and still keep the cost down. Wait scratch that costs down? HAHAHAHAHA

Sorry wasnt even trying to go there either, but it is funny. in todays internet indrusty you have to keep things competive to keep business, or have a good customer contact group. They seem to split it there Tom is doing better but the prices are not coming down which will discourage all the other SHO owners away, plus reading stuff like this. I hope they do a 180 and do better, but the Name is still the SHO SHOP which DOES include the V8, but does not include the Contour, SLO and the new BMW part of it. The SHO SHOP was formed by SHO Owners and now it seems were being left behind.
