ok so I'm having some probs with my car running when it warms up, in my quest of parts swapping I came along the MAF.

So I whent to get a new MAF and I found one SHO in the junkyard but it was a gen 1 3.0.

are these the same maf's as the 94 3.2?

I have it on now but it seems to be lacking in mid range power and still was stumbling, I'm disconnecting my battery right now(wifi rocks I type this on my radiator support haha) Im gonna let it try to relearn.

ALSO I have a K&N intake, and I might have my MAF in the wrong clock position. I have my computer out here and am looking for good pics to compare how mine looks now to a factory one, I'm mainly going by the position of the connector.......

Now I just saw a picture and noticed it had a different wiring harness going to the maf. It plugged straight in and had bare wire at the end. On my 94 3.2 the MAF connector is covered in plastic and bends 90 degrees right before and just looks vastly different, maybe thats just a piece some people remove or maybe it is different. The PN on this MAF from the Gen1 I am using right now is

F1ZF-12B579-AA

my old maf PN is:

the exact same

there is also another number below that, its the same on both as well:

AFH55-03B

however there is a third number below that that is different, maybe they are date coes I dunno, my Gen1 new maf says

1B20

while my old stock MAF sats 3g15

any help u can give me on any of my questions is appreciated, thanks

I don't know anything about the part numbers, or even if they used different MAFs from year to year, or from MTX to ATX. However, I DO know that at least MTX MAFs are oriented such that the connector is on top, and facing the radiator.
This picture looks correct:

I've been down the same river as you have without the paddle, and I've found that all V6 SHOs were created equal with the MAF. I've used 5 or 7 of the damn things from different SHOs (had to replace them for different reasons) and all of them worked. Chances are, the one you got it just dirty. Spray some electrical contact cleaner on the lil filiments that poke down into the tube, and then make sure those to lil hairs are intact.

BTW, if you're using a stock MAF on a stock airbox, it's impossible to orient it wrong.
