Does the carrier gasket usually leak? Like someone mentioned earlier i wonder if you get that far in if you should then just change the pan gaskets also.
Also what stock clutch and flywheel is everyone going with now?
The carrier gasket is a flat gasket and does not usually leak. There is no better time to reseal the oil pan than when the transmission is out of the way, and it's a natural to replace the pan end gaskets, carrier gasket, and rear main seal all at the same time. That said, unless I had an obvious pan leak that required attention, I would not do all of that at every clutch change. The rear main seal can be replaced by itself. So, it depends on the circumstances.
