SHO hoods

Now me along with alot of other people would love to get those cowl hoods from cincysho. i would mainly cause of the damage to mine. plus the lighter weight is very appealing, but i wanna avoid paying 600 bucks so if i have to settle for a stock one or something else i will. i saw a gen 2 SHO on the forum awhile back with a hood the had to grooves on the right and left side. i thought it might be off a sable.
so anyone know out there whatns hoods will fit a gen 2 and where to find them(possibly price if you know)

That hood is a regular Taurus hood, and by the looks of it, should fit fine, as long as nothing hits underneath. IMO, it looks very nice. thumbs_u

BTW, a Sable hood and a SHO hood are the same.

Is there any truth to the report that the standard Taurus hood will crack the DIS? What about if you remove the underhood cover? I smashed my hood with a deer and I need to get a new one before I can get it running again. And will the upper core support from any old Taurus fit my '93 SHO? Please lemme know...

I would imagine that any old taurus radiator support should be the same. It is after all the same frame.

The reason it may crack the DIS is because the hood frames are different.The Sable hood should be a better choice from what i`ve always been told.The radiator support is just plain old Taurus parts.

I have a GEN II hood off of my 95 that is in near perfect shape. I will sell it cheap.

The Gen II SHO's came with a Sable hood skin to match the Sable fenders and Sable head/conring/turn signal lamps. The bracing of the SHO hood is unique to clear the Yamaha engine intake, plumbing and outer under hood items. A standard Taurus and/or Sable hood will, not should not work on a SHO, at least not without a lot of reworking.

I thought a Sable hood will fit on a SHO but a Taurus hood will not fit on an SHO. Don't ask why this is just what I've heard.

I just bought a cowl hood off a guy thats on the email list. The boyf is picking it up tomorrow and painting it for me. Its off a midnight blue, and I'm an opal frost. I'm headed up there a few days prior to the convention to put it on (he's in Michigan, I'm in Florida, so we just got lucky!). If you watch the lists or the classifieds, you may see one pop up.
