Well, the day before my wife and I left for our vacation in New Orleans we got rear-ended while in Chicago... Good news is we are both okay - the wife too a ride to the ER but all checked out fine. Just a bit sore the past few days.
The damage is pretty bad so they'll probably total it out. I'm waiting to hear back from the other guys insurance. It was obviously his fault - we were almost stopped at an intersection. Couple questions:
1) What should I use to get a good number for what the car is worth? Kelly's Blue Book, NADA, Edmunds? I'm sure the insurance co will try and lowball us.
2) The car was in pretty decent shape before the crash. Would it be worth it to buy it back from the insurance co. and part it out? It's a 95 ATX. The 3.2 might be worth something - right? Not to mention all the interior, Cobra calipers and suspension mods (Eibach's, GTP rear arms, etc).
Any other advice anyone has for a situation like this would be appreciated.
Looks like the new(er) car search will begin. I've been eyeing up the Lincoln LS (V8 of course) for a little while so I may go that route if I can find one with all the goodies.
