Took the Sho out on sunday for some more autox fun. Overall I finished mid pack out of 60 drivers (not counting karts). I ran in the street tire index class and ended up 4th in class. I usually run in SMF (Street Mod FWD)....would have been 2nd there. Went out to try and find the traction limits of the car....almost spun it a few time...got sideways in a few corners.....and everyonce in awhile hit the perfect sweet spot.

Best thing you could have done. Now you will know how to take advantage of it. The Star Specs are only going to get faster. However, Watch front tire Temps and spray them down if you need to between runs. I've managed to over heat my Star Specs once, They got pretty greasy.

Thanks. I had to fight the urge to slow down cause I didnt know if I could make the next turn. I was keeping a pretty close eye on the tire pressure. I had to bleed of about 10 psi up front during the heat to keep it where I wanted. Kept dropping the pressure in the rear to try and get the backs to stick better in a couple of fast sweepers. On my best run I missed my line on 2 of the most important corners of the course, so Im sure there is atleast another sec or two as she sits. Probably will go with a more aggresive aligment next year. Also wish Star Specs came in wider than 225's in 16" rims. I have 16x7.5" rims, so I definatly could fit 235's.

On a kinda funny note, I had a autox ****** codrive with me. After he rode with me the first run he got out with his hands shaking and said that he thought I was gonna lose it the whole run....and that was my slowest of the day.

I am wanting to expand my track experience to more than just autox. I need to find some good open track events for first timers.
Muncie and 131 dragway are both about 2 hours from my house. Just need to find some other people to go with.

Coolness, thanks for sharing. I am anxious to get some auto-x/dragstrip/road course time in.
