I get a shimmy in front end around 70 mph and up. car has new tires which are balanced. car just had front end alignment. one of the outer tie rods was changed (other one was tight and changed a year ago). the steering is tight, wheel has no play. car handles great. has the solid subframe mounts. what do you think is causing this shimmy?

does it happen on all roads at that speed or just the high way? You should double check that your front end is tight, sounds to me like there may still be a loose part.

Don't know if I'm sending this correctly, but here goes! Just saw your question, don't have an answer, I think? I've just bought my 2nd SHO. It's a "95". It shimmys at 70 and over! Dashboard even gets a slight vibration! I removed the left front wheel found two lug nuts missing, they were broke. Then inspected the right front (passengerside) their was a broken stem in their too! I'm hoping replacing those might make a difference! Thats surely not your problem. If you have any info on the subject, I would surely like to know!

my rear brake caliper has been sticking. I bet the rotor is warped. I'll change them and see if that helps.

A rotor will only cause a vibration when braking, and the rears you won't notice, because that suspension is independed of the front end.

I would get your tires balanced, and depending on the mileage on your SHO, you might want to look into getting those bearings and hubs changed out, instead of just new studs.
