I see SHO designated valve shims are labeled with a 4 digit number, but 29mm shims from bikes have a 3 digit number. Is it ok to use 29mm bike shims in my car? How do I convert the numbers?

Generally, the three digit numbers leave off the "0" at the end, IIRC. If they fit the bucket correctly, you can use them.

Yes you can use 29mm shims from the motorcycle dealer. I have done it. Just make sure they are 29mm and NOT 29.5MM!

Jason is correct. The bike shims only have 3 digits. The last digit or zero is left off.

Example: 290 bike shim is a 2900 when compared to a ford/yamaha shim.
