I just recently picked up a 92 sho. The tranny grinded so the within the first couple of days i replaced the tranny and clutch.Tranny shifts beautifuly but when i come to a sudden stop, brake hard, or hard shift down to 1st,2nd, or 3rd gear the shifter will vibrate and feels like pressures being put on it. it also gives off a low hum noise which im not likeing either. I didnt run across this with my last sho but it had a cable setup.i did a search on it and im guessing some of the bushings on the rod shifter linkage might be shot. I was also wondering if it would have anything to do with a worn motor mount.when replacing the tranny i noticed the mount was worn but had no money to repair it. oh so i was wondering if you guys got any ideas. Thanks in advance!!!

There are a few probably causes.

The first that I would suspect is a torn rear motor mount.
Other possibles include bad sub frame bushings and overtigntened rod shifter bolts (where the black box slides).

im pretty sure the rear motor mount was fine, it was the front one that was ripped. As far as over tourqeing the bolts for the shifter i couldnt tell ya. The subframe bushings were in good condition, not enough to cause a problem. I was thinking however could the shifter problem be due to an unaligned subframe. I havnt gotten the subframe alligned since the tranny change. Just a guess shrug
