Set cam timing

Where are the indicators? Are the alignment marks on the cam sprockets supposed to face each other or is there an idicator on the back of the head/cam sprocket covers? Im not seeing anything on the back of the covers that would say where the cams shoudl be aligned.

They have marks on the outer rim. They should point up and align with the marks on the timing belt cover.

What are you trying to line up, the timing belt or the chains? If it's the chains, the marks on the chain sprockets are to be lined up pretty much horizontal (parallel with respect to the top of the heads), but on opposite ends of one another. There is a mark on the chains that has to be lined up, as well. There was a thread several months ago that had a better description on how to line up the chains and sprockets, try a search.
