Service Engine Light

I have a 1996 SHO with just over 82,000 miles and the Service Engine Soon light just came on. I think I remember this same thing happening at about 60,000 miles and the light disappead without me having to do anything. Does anyone know if this is just a maintenance warning light?

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to go somewhere and get the code read. AutoZone does it for free.

No its not a maintenance warning light, its on for a reason. Sometimes it will go off if after a certain number of drives the problem doesnt reoccur.

Well, I had the light come on twice....both under warranty and both were IMRC.
