Do they move from when the car is off compared to after the car is started?

They are probably open all the time. A vacuum is created when the car is started to "suck" them shut. When you hit 4 grand, the vacuum releases and they open. If you have a vac. leak, they will never closed as no vac. is created.

when the car is at idle and then you rev it up they usally dont open up unless you rev it up around 4000 rpm and then start pumping the gas thats the only way iv found that they will open when the car is stoped ...try driveing it and take it over 4000 and see if you hear a sound differnce...if you take your silicer cone out you will be able to hear it better

1: how do you know if you revved it past 4 grand? (If in the car, you probably cant hear them open.) If under the hood, are you sure it hit 4 grand?

When you sqeeze the hose, ur cutting the vacuum off and its letting the secondaries open.

Sit inside and make sure you hit 4500-5000 when revving and have someone sit and watch the secondaries to open. (make sure car is not in gear...if someone is hurt, I am not liable)

Its probably slow in the other gears as well...you just dont notice it.

Whatever tells the canister to let the vacuum go at 4 grand evidently isnt doing its job or there is a bad connection somewhere.
