secondary question

I have been reading up on the secondaries, but since I dont yet have a running SHO(just the motor w/ no computer) I was wondering....are the secondaries computer controlled?, I'm assuming so, which could be a problem for me since this motor is not going in a SHO and I was planning on using a standalone for it, am I going to have to program a circuit to open the secondaries or is there another way to do it, IE vacuum, tach signal...

The secondaries are opened with the release of the vacuum I do believe...what releases the vacuum, I do not know.

Mechanically, they are held close by vacuum. When your motor reaches 3950 RPM, an electronic solenoid releases vacuum from the canister in the rear of the intake.

cool, this simplifies things a lot....since I am changing to fully programmable speed density system(I prefer speed density to mass air because it can have better throttle response...and best of all....I'll never have to worry about idle surge again, had enough of that with my eclipse, not to mention i wont have to worry about how big a MAF needs to be to be able to read all the air) and with a standalone a speed density system has no disadvantages
