95 mtx with 63K. 60K done at 46K. Mobil 1 since new (documented). Small oil leak which is annoying. Rear main seal? Oil pan seal? can't tell. Does anyone have any experience with seal conditioners? Wondering if putting some in would do any harm?

best bet would prolly be to drop the oil pan and reseal it. cost you $20 in parts and about 3 hours to do. You'd need to remove the y-pipe and drain the oil, but that is your best way of fixing a leak like that. I don't put much faith in a pour in fix to a physical problem like a leaking seal.

Though first things first you should try and pinpoint exactly where the leak is coming from. Rear main seals that I have seen usually don't get leaks till they are really old and dried out, front crank seals, yeah they leak, and oil pan seals leak all the time :)

Ditto.

Additives can cause more problems than they fix. At that milage a rear main seal leak is possible but unlikely. Replace the oil pan seal and see if that solves the problem. If not, then look elsewhere for the leak, eg valve cover leak, oil sending unit, etc. The oil makes its way to the bottom of the engine so a rear main seal leak is not the only possibility. rangerj
