I've browsed through sdpatt's photos a number of times for both the clutch and rod bearings. I noticed the drawing for the engine support and had a question about the front support. Why is the support beam on the front support mounted at an angle, and why are the bolts mounted at an angle? I plan on building a modified version, but wanted to know why you made it that way so I don't end up with something that won't work. Is it structurally stronger that way? Did you do that because the 2 2x4's would split if you went straight into them? I plan on working from your design, but substituting the 2x4's for the support beams with 4x4's. There are also dotted lines on the side views of the supports which to me says that the side pieces should be cut out for the cross members to fit in. I plan on mounting them flush and not cutting anything out.
