My Sho has been acting really strange while accelerating from a dead stop lately. It is difficult to describe, but I will give it my best shot. When I am stopped, and I hit the gas lightly the car takes off normal... But if I hit the gas decently or "Anything" more than lightly, the front wheels do not spin in sync with the pedal press. It is like I hit the gas, and there is a very slight pause (Just enough to notice that they did not turn "Immediately") ... Then I feel a slight thump at the front wheels, and then they begin to spin. My tranny is brand new, and has 3000 miles on it since rebuild. I took it back to AAMCO and they checked everything out (Said it was "perfect", and the tranny mounts were fine), so I have ruled that out as the culprit. I also suspected that my motor mounts were busted "Again", but they turned out to be ok (Had them replaced 4 months ago). I have absolutely no idea why the front wheels are doing this, but if anyone has had the same experience I would like to hear from you. Also, any suggestions as to what may be happening up front is greatly appreciated too!! Thanks, and happy cruising thumbs_u

I'm not SDPATT, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night (or whatever the place is).

Sounds like it does the same thing as my slos. One had the tranny rebuilt by the previous owner maybe 30k ago, the other is still original with about 165K (think I should call guiness to see if that's a record for the POS Ford ATX).

From what I have read here, if youi gotta drive the ATX get it built by that guy in Atlanta, Doug Lewis is it?

Another thing I have heard is never ever let AAMCO or any of the other big chain hacks work on your car whether it is a tranny rebuild or an oil change.

Good Luck. Being a SHO ATX pilot, you'll need it! :D

What Pete said. ATXs are not my in my area of experience, but it sounds like yours needs to make a return trip to the shop that "rebuilt" it.
