Crap I wote it wrong, like it says at 4k rpms you can barely hear it. I was either thinking a peice of cat has broken off or a vacuum leak of some sort causing the butterflies to not open. But thats only when I'm driving, I opened mywindow in my driveway last night and revved it and when its sitting still it just sounds fine, on the road though the deep sound that I'm use to just isn't there. Under 4k rpms its as quick as it use to be, but above that it really dies off.

They're opening the problem is a severly stretched out throttle cable. I think those have been discontinued so I'm gonna have to search around. They do open I revved it from a stand still and you can hear it, but when I'm driving I only have about 1/8th of the throttle so the tach clims so slow and there is no deep sound because I really ain't pushing it. My pedal is stuck about a half inch from the floor. I'm going to go get a new cable tonight. Now I just gotta figure out why my heater fans are blowing fuses,, does anyone know where a ground for them is?

LOL, thats something you say to the mechanically inept. Which isn't me, I did a temp fix on the cable because by the time I got to the parts store to see if they still made throttle cables, they had already closed. I think what stretched it before was my gas pedal was always so hard to push down no clue why. So I suppose over time the pressure just stretched the line. With my temp fix its easy to push down and feels like it has so much power than before, I can't wait for a new cable, its like a whole diffrent car!

Cant the cable be readjusted?

Like on a bike, the gears are cable driven, and constantly need adjusting to maintain correct shift points. I thought the accellerator cable could be adjusted sorta the same way. shrug

Unfortunately, not in a SHO.

Every Japanese car I've ever seen has a provision for throttle cable adjustment, but the SHO doesn't.

Open the hood while the car is running, and work the throttle by hand while watching the movement, or lack thereof, of the secondary butterfly actuators.

Takes just a few seconds to check their operation.

The operation of the secondaries has nothing to do with the throttle cable; it is totally controlled by the PCM, based on RPM, via vacuum. It's much easier to verify their proper operation by sight rather than by sound.

Unless your throttle cable is stretched so badly that it prevents you from reaching/exceeding 3950 RPMs in any gear, your secondaries (presuming they are operating properly) will automatically open any time the RPMs reach/exceed the threshold.

Ok, my secondaries are fine, it's just that I was only capable of about 1/8th of WOT so it didn't really gain much sound or power. The cable has about 3/4 of and inch in slack, I wish the thing had a d@mn adjuster but nooo. I cut the line and tried sticking the line through a little metal peice that a screw clamps down to hold the line therefore taking out the slack. But when I cut the line it frayed the ends so bad that I can't even get the little "vise" over the end, so I guess a new cble is in order as of tomorrow.
