Has anyone used Sachs struts?
My local Autozone has them and I was thinking if they would perform better then Monroe.
I will be using them on Gen2 with Subframe swap.

Strut mounting points and springs are different so you will still need to use your Gen2 suspension.

Sure.

The springs and lower spring seats are different, and the top mount is different/has a different bolt pattern to it. And, if you manage to get through all that, you'd also have to use gen3 endlinks because the mounting point is 90 degrees off from the gen 2.

I suppose you could use gen 3 springs and make the top mount work for you.

We got lucky in that the strut to knuckle mounting is the same from gen 2 to gen 3.

I'm shopping for some new struts.. would anyone recommend getting the Sachs' over sensa-tracs'? They are expensive, but if the ride-quality is better than the Monroe's, then I'll pony up the money for them.

I have shoshop springs on my car, so thats why i am asking. Never knew how bad KYB were on SHO until i tried it long time ago with Eibachs. Got Monroe in the back now and so far so good, but for me sachs about $10 more than Monroe and they claim to thave lifetime warranty, so will probably try them on in about two weeks, unless someone will share their negative experience.

The Sach struts that RockAuto shows are the OEM SARC struts. They must have made another batch.

I was referring to the "Super Touring" struts that RA sells for the Gen 1/2 cars, since that's what the OP has. I'm guessing this ended up in the Gen 3 forum because he's doing a Gen 3 SF swap and thought he'd need Gen 3 struts?

At any rate, Sachs Super Touring struts are horrible. Sachs SARC struts are da bomb.

FYI, for those interested, I ran SARCs on my 93 for quite a while. Rears bolt right in of course, on the front I redrilled my strut towers to accept the Gen 3 mount. Out of all the combinations of struts/springs I've had, I liked that setup the best.

What setup did you have on the front?

Gen 3 SARC struts, which is why I had to redrill the strut tower to accept the Gen 3 mount bolt pattern.
