I thought I recall reading around here, maybe even more than once, that Gen II Sable headlamps will fit a Gen II SHO? If so, are there any differences between the two headlamp assemblies? I did a search on it and couldn't find any definitive answers.

Sable gen2 has same exact headlamps as the SHO just without the side fishtanks. We also share frt fenders, frt corner lights & hood skin. Hood reinforcement was revised to clear intake frt tank.

Thanks guys. :salute:

I saw a pair of nice, clear headlamps on a Gen II Sable Wagon at the junkyard the other day when I was getting something for my Ranger, so I was wondering about them.

The guy said I could have them for $40.00 a piece - what do you think?

If they are OEM they are worth it. Be sure to get the bulb retaining collar and the clips that hold the mounting studs in.

Good advice on the fastners and collar Paul.

Now, how about those fishtanks? I actually had my SHO's headlamps off before but it was quite a while back, so I checked my Ford Manual and the fishtanks appear to be integral to the SHO headlamp assemblies, is that right? So what happens with them if you want to use the Sable headamps instead?

SHO Continental thanks for the photos, now I understand how the fishtanks are attached.

I checked out the pics of your SHO, I like what you did with all your the front lamps, the whole car looks great! I might try that fishtank mod (adding the light) someday myself. Speaking of which, is there anything else to do with the fishtanks, such as maybe paint them?

Oh yeah been running sable lights on my 93' for 3 years now. Just had to screw the fishtanks on to them. Way cheaper then SHO spec lights.
