I wasn't saying they average in 10's, I was just saying about the one running a 10.85 bone stock and thought you'd like to see it. Geez! :nut:

First, there was already a thread about that Z06, and second, your post did seem to imply that this was the norm, as you quoted my statement about the average being low-mid 11's.

Also, I don't see how you can compare tires to gears. That would mean all of these SHO's here are no longer stock because they don't have the factory tires. :smash:

And most SHO's are no longer stock, so it is a moot point, but if that Z06 were on street tires, then it would be just as well as stock. Your average performance radial will perform about the same at the strip. A drag radial is a different animal. And yes, it is much the same as comparing them to gears, as the reduction in E.T. is comparable.

Also, keep in mind that the density altitude as NEGATIVE 850-ft, the temp was 51F, this was this guys 52nd pass with his car, and he is arguably the best Z06 driver in the world, as he has always posted times a good deal quicker than the general population. Look at his best pass with the stock tires, 11.24, likely one of the quickest ever for a C6 Z06. I stand by my quote, C6 Z06's are low-mid 11 sec cars.

DING DING DING! With that amount of passes in his car with no mods he should be able to run it to the best of his abilities.

Are the new Z06's running drag radials from the factory? Then it is not bone-stock. That is like saying a new Mustang runs 12's bone stock with just gears. Regardless, a lone Z06 in the entire world is running hig 10's, the average, which is what I was posting, is much closer to low-mid 11's.

Low temps and being lower than sea level DEFINITELY help. In addition, if there were a high pressure zone over that area, he'd be putting a good deal more power than stock SAE ratings.

Stock LS1 motor=not great for boost. It comes w/ a 10.1:1 CR so I don't see someone pushing much boost through it.

Tires are rarely counted as a mod, at least I've never seen what kinda tires people have in thier sigs or them list them for mods. But I do get what your saying.

Probably the most overlook thing.

Tires are the only thing that touch the ground. If you don't have good tires then all that power is wasted.

Tire Slippage!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats why you push low boost and intercool it. The SHOs CR is 9.8:1, and guys are pushing around, what, like 9-12 psi? Intercooled of course.
