No, you're going to get beat.... The only chance you have is from a roll, but he's still fast.

How about you get your car back, learn it, and stay on top of all the extra needs an SC SHO has before you go beating on it. Otherwise, you'll be in to see Tony again. If you're on a stock piston motor, I'd be VERY careful.

Quartermile times on a track mean squat on the road. IIRC tony said he beat a c6 vette, thats what, a mid/high 10 second car? Granted from a roll, but i'm pretty sure vettes to just fine on the top end

The Quartermile is a pretty good indicator if you factor in how well it can launch. The C6 ZO6 is an 11 second car, however, it pulls fine at any speed. You forget that Tony is making lots of power. I bet he's making a lot more than that C6 Vette to beat it.

If it is a decent blower on that WS6, and has the supporting mods, then he is likely trapping well into the 120's on that 11.2. If that is the case, you will need a lot of HP to keep up. H/C/I Ls'1 routinely make over 400whp, so this guy could very easily be making over 500whp, just no way to know until you ask him.

As far the C6 vette I have seen mentioned, it is nowhere near a 10sec car. Mid/high 12's, depending on manual vs auto. The Z06 is an easy low0mid 11sec car @ over 125, but they cost 70k and are not nearly as common as the garden variety C6.

Go to the Covette Forums. There's a guy who ran a 10.85 bone stock with just drag radials. It's on video.

Yeah, it was a Z06.

I didn't know you posted a link on that. :nut: I was sent the link from a buddy and I just thought it would be pretty cool for someone to see. Bad ass car if you ask me! :naughty:

my money would be on the LS-1....... sorry but those motors make power

guy around here has a heads/cam/intake/headers built LS1 pushing 530whp daily driver......... then he has a 200 shot on top of that

you give 5.7Liters something to work with and it will work you hard LOL

also that musta been a badged RS..... I just don't see a y-pipe SHO walking a LT-1..... now walking a 3.8 I can see..... LT-1's are low 14 second cars easily... so on the highway I will give them the edge over the SHO, plus they have about 300hp in the F-body application.... I've driven quite a few stock LT-1's at my old work... and they feel a **** of a lot stronger then my SHO

ON THE OTHER HAND........

maybe his ws6 is stock, with a low psi blower without an intercooler, thats going to be your only hope... if its a modded beast he will probably walk you at 3/4 throttle

I think it will be a great race.

It will be a built 3.2L with all the goodies. Got the big a$$ heat exchanger in yesterday.

Mr. Jesse you'll be a very happy man.

Are the new Z06's running drag radials from the factory? Then it is not bone-stock. That is like saying a new Mustang runs 12's bone stock with just gears. Regardless, a lone Z06 in the entire world is running hig 10's, the average, which is what I was posting, is much closer to low-mid 11's.

Also, keep in mind that the density altitude as NEGATIVE 850-ft, the temp was 51F, this was this guys 52nd pass with his car, and he is arguably the best Z06 driver in the world, as he has always posted times a good deal quicker than the general population. Look at his best pass with the stock tires, 11.24, likely one of the quickest ever for a C6 Z06. I stand by my quote, C6 Z06's are low-mid 11 sec cars.

For once Murph, you are correct. The stock tire will certainly slip a lot more upon lanuching. Even the mighty Z06 will be seeing 100% traction potential @ 170mph, as evidenced by the many I witnessed running the standing mile last August.

I wasn't saying they average in 10's, I was just saying about the one running a 10.85 bone stock and thought you'd like to see it. Geez! :nut:

Also, I don't see how you can compare tires to gears. That would mean all of these SHO's here are no longer stock because they don't have the factory tires. :smash:

comparing the stock tires to slicks or drag radials is on a 500hp stock factory car is TOTALLY different then talking about different size tires or a performance street tire of somewhat the same size on a SHO.......

come on now use yer head
