Brett said:Quartermile times on a track mean squat on the road. IIRC tony said he beat a c6 vette, thats what, a mid/high 10 second car? Granted from a roll, but i'm pretty sure vettes to just fine on the top end

Toolman said:As far the C6 vette I have seen mentioned, it is nowhere near a 10sec car. Mid/high 12's, depending on manual vs auto. The Z06 is an easy low0mid 11sec car @ over 125, but they cost 70k and are not nearly as common as the garden variety C6.
TYSHO said:Go to the Covette Forums. There's a guy who ran a 10.85 bone stock with just drag radials. It's on video.

I posted a link in the open forums the other day![]()
I was sent the link from a buddy and I just thought it would be pretty cool for someone to see. Bad ass car if you ask me!

It will be a built 3.2L with all the goodies. Got the big a$$ heat exchanger in yesterday.
Mr. Jesse you'll be a very happy man.

Toolman said:Are the new Z06's running drag radials from the factory? Then it is not bone-stock. That is like saying a new Mustang runs 12's bone stock with just gears. Regardless, a lone Z06 in the entire world is running hig 10's, the average, which is what I was posting, is much closer to low-mid 11's.
Toolman said:For once Murph, you are correct. The stock tire will certainly slip a lot more upon lanuching. Even the mighty Z06 will be seeing 100% traction potential @ 170mph, as evidenced by the many I witnessed running the standing mile last August.

Also, keep in mind that the density altitude as NEGATIVE 850-ft, the temp was 51F, this was this guys 52nd pass with his car, and he is arguably the best Z06 driver in the world, as he has always posted times a good deal quicker than the general population. Look at his best pass with the stock tires, 11.24, likely one of the quickest ever for a C6 Z06. I stand by my quote, C6 Z06's are low-mid 11 sec cars.
