ok its running great now and the liquid coming out of the exhaust has subsided slightly but has no smell really and appears to be water?
the exhaust sounded kinda shaky but no real leaks that i could hear in the lines.
now heres the clincher...when i turned it off and got out i noticed a bunch of rusty metal chunks behind both the tailpipes...this with the rusty dust residue behind them makes me think it isnt excess cleaner afterall. any idea what this means? shoboom? catboom? new cats?

Water is a natural byproduct of gasoline combustion. When the engine is cold the water that comes out the tailpipe will have a good amount that is liquid. When the engine warms up the water that comes out the pipe is invisible vapor. Consider the water coming out the tail normal for *any* car. The rusty chunks? You're from Minnesota. Your exhaust is rusting out. Nothing surprising there.

Speaking of rusty exhaust, mine's got a couple leaks also. It's so bad that I get hardly and air coming out of either of the mufflers at idle. I think, though it might just be the gasket up front behind the cats and one clamp has rusted off right before the pipe goes around the gas tank. Sounds like ****, especially that front leak.
