I have a 91+, no upgrades on brakes. It has been sitting for about 2 months due to a bad clutch. Well, i finally got funds to get it fixed and the car won't budge. I checked in front of and behind all of the tires for blockage and none.I peer in at the rotors and they are rusted as ****. I wasn't thinking and my e-brake was on the whole time. My thinking is that the pad and rotor rusted together. My only ideas are these(don't know how good/stupid they are):

1)Jack up rear of car and try to turn wheel with hands until broken free.

2)Have someone pull in front of me with their car and hook up a tow cable and pull the car with a little force until the brakes break loose.

Please give me all of your ideas ASAP as I need to be able to move the car tommorrow or wait longer to get my baby back :( !!

If it is an old e brake then yes-it could be "frozen" and won't release. But if just the rotors and pads are rusted then you should be able to just pop the clutch and drive. Go slow and keep foot on brake (not too long) to clear rust away. But the notoriously terribly designed e brake likes to corrode and might not release. You might have to lay under and pull the cable to release it. If it does, then you might want to NOT use it until you can get a new set.Good luck

That's good-except I have seen where the caliper (where it connects to the e cable) will corrode at that point. But I would say chances are then that it will release and just pop the clutch carefully and it should be driveable-at least that would be my guess. If all is ok you should get a full fluid change every two years.

The tow cable idea doesn't sound like a bad plan. Lets just hope that your buddy has a big truck with an automatic. Happened once to my chevy wagon, but of course it was sitting for an entire winter.

Thank you to you guys who responded quickly. I jacked it up and manually released the E-brake and that did it :D .
