I am currently running a LMS stage 3, 93 octane tune. Is there any concern about running that tune down here in Houston right now with all these triple digit temps?

I hadn't given it too much thought until Monday, on the way home in rush hour traffic, and I noticed my IAT was at 156F.

thoughts ?

I have been running stage 2 all summer and we hit 100+ a few times, with most days in the mid 90's. No issues to report.

A good tune should be able to account for temp fluctuations and reduce timing/boost accordingly. I tuned a WRX for someone on this site over spring. When it started getting hot out, I had him go out and log to find out that it was knocking (minimal) in 100F heat. I adjusted a global timing retard based on intake temperature and he's been fine.

Thanks .. that echos my thoughts. I will run it by Rick just to make sure. I definitely don't beat on it in that heat .. kind of hard to in rush hour traffic..

To my mind, it would be most prudent not to beat on it in high temps and humidity.......driving normally, tho, should not pose any issues.

Sounds like you're quite wary of adverse conditions -- A wise move (IMHO).

I was at the strip in early June with 90 deg temps. Of course with W/M, my air temps weren't too bad, but due to sitting-waiting to run, I saw MCT temps of around 140 as well as IAT temps of 120 or more. However, they go down really fast once underway. By the time I'm on the return road, the IAT temps were equal to outside temp & MCT temps are not over 110.
Turned a 13.121 and actually saw my best top 1/4 mi speeds ever!

Conclusion... the tune is fine. I just wouldn't ride her hard in stop & go traffic until the IAT temp is close to outside temp, as the MCT temp will definitely go up under boost, unless you are spraying.

i was running Unleashed tune in my SHO and the engine started knocking and hammering real bad, outside temp was 117 degrees here in Saint Louis. I took it to Ford, they replaced my Fuel Pump and the engine all under warranty with no questions asked. Took em a month to fix it! I had it 24 hours then my Trans blew and they rebuilt it for free too.

117 in Missouri?

You blew up your car and scammed a dealership for your intentional mistake? I bet you didn't tell them about the tune either.
