I've got a '91 SHO with about 134k on the clock. However, recently I've noticed that if I drop the pedal on the floor coming out of a stoplight, the engine seems to hit a dead spot from 3-4 grand. If you don't floor it, it's no trouble. I've checked the air filter and replaced it, still a problem. I've also noticed that if you fire it up but don't give it time to warm up (I always give it a couple minutes to get some oil flowing) It's doggy and jerky and almost downright unsafe. All I can figure is it might be the plugs (don't have the know how of this motor to pull the back bank...any of you AZ boys want a grasshopper to your kemosabi?), or the fuel injectors, but living in an apartment I'm not supposed to be tearing into stuff in the parking lot. Somebody help!

Idles funny too

Oh, I forgot to mention, it seems to me that it used to idle smoothly, but it's been getting a bit rough (walks over about 3-400 RPM).

I would say the plugs or the wires themselves. Check the wells for oil and remove. I admit the back plugs are a pain but it can be done I have big claws and was able to after removing a few hoses. I am not an expert just my best guess.

Another idea a vacum leak. Check all of your hoses.

any of you AZ boys want a grasshopper to your kemosabi?), I didnt follow........BTW I am in AZ.

Id agree, either plug wires or a vacuume leak. There are other possibilities, but these seem to be the most common causes of the problem you are describing.

Any codes?

Codes

Alright, y'all, I'll check the beasts. As far as trouble codes, the check engine light hasn't come on, and I haven't got (Nor can I afford) a code reader.

Grasshopper to your Kemosabi......If you feel like teaching, I sure would like to learn a thing or two.
