Rubber exhaust hangers

(I did a forum search on this subject but the most recent thread is 4 years old)

I'm looking for the latest and greatest info regarding where to buy the rubber exhaust hangers for the exhaust system on a `92 MTX. The exhaust on my SHO is being returned to factory original. I want to replace all the hangers as long as everything will be apart.

I know universal hangers can be found anywhere but I'm trying to avoid 'experimenting' with which ones fit good. Not to mention many aftermarket universal parts like this are simply cheap junk. I want this factory exhaust being installed to fit good with no interferences.

does your car still have the old hangers?

the ones in my car were giving some slack so what I did was to put around them hose clamps, the ones you can adjust with a screw driver so I could get the exhaust to its stock level since I didn't know were to buy new ones.

That might help you in case you still have the old ones (or find some old ones) and are slacking a bit

You can still get new ones from Ford.

I thought about calling a Ford dealer but assumed they are no longer available.

Don't bother with a "universal" hanger from advance or the like, the 2 options are too short and slightly too long. I replaced a ripped hanger with the shorter one and it pulled the exhaust close against the body so that it wil rattle when it touches the chassis.

For proper fit and function just get some from ford, they've used those hangers for a long time on alot of platforms. One of the few things that they haven't discontinued.
